Welcome to PLAYBOOK’s blog series: Three Lean Product Development Links. This week we focus on great reads - our favorite lean product development books.
We curate Lean project management and product development links from around the web and share the best three with you, weekly. Let us know what you think! We will keep it short, sweet and real. Enjoy!
The PLAYBOOK team reviewed a pre-publication copy of "The Principles of Product Development Flow," so we’ve had access to the ideas in this book longer than almost anyone else. Arguably the Lean product development bible at PLAYBOOK, we have incorporated Don Reinertsen's ideas in PLAYBOOK's software and methodology. If you read one book on Lean product development this year, read this.
"The Goal" delivers on practical, Lean lessons, written as an approachable, gripping novel. It introduces the Theory of Constraints and is "changing the way America does business." If you are involved in any area of management, you will learn useful lessons in problem-solving while being entertained at the same time.
Eric Ries has popularized the term Lean in the world of startups and in his book discusses concepts such as failing forward fast and early learning. In later work, he discusses how the Lean Startup Method can be applied not only in startups but in enterprise organizations.
